I am no relative to this man, i am just an ordinary Belgian. I have some letters , written by this man to his family and wife. Reading such a letter, and than realizing he is buried here , in my country , so far from his home, is really heart-breaking and fills me with a deep respect for this man. I am very gratefull for the freedom that we enjoy, also here in Belgium, thanks to these men,but it makes me sad to know so many had to give their lives for this freedom. For a couple of years now, at the 11th of november, i went to his grave to put some flowers there, and i will continue to do so in honour of him , and all of his brothers in arms. Thank you!
