To the family of Jared M Schmitz, Your son's sacrifice and commitment to his nation will not be forgotten. In early 1973 my mom received POW/MIA bracelet during the Vietnam war. The Marine's name was Gregory Benton Jr. I was named Gregory in honor of his sacrifice in August 1973. Fast forward to 2008 when we were expecting our second child. We named him Benton and I have explained the significance of his name to him and he thinks it is quite cool. Your son's heroism and sacrifice even inspires those that he never met. May God grant you peace and comfort during your time of mourning.
