"Uncle Eddie" was barely out of high school when he entered the US Army during WWII. He was nineteen when he died during the brutal battles in Anzio, Italy in May 1944. He is interred in the Rome Sicily American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy. I visited there for the 70th anniversary of the battle and participated in the Memorial Day Ceremonies. Beautiful!
