TRIBUTES

Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.

  • Chris was more than just a Nations Hero. Chris was my best friend, my husband, the father to our two sweet boys and the most incredible man to so many. Chris tried hard to live his life to the best of his ability. He loved life, loved the outdoors and loved his family with all his heart. He was a man of his word, honorable and true. He did what he said he would and made sure that if he made you a promise (which was rare) that promise was kept.

Chris had his devil side that with the love I had for him accepted with open arms. He was a stinker in his own right and like all humans made his own mistakes in life. He had a temper and ask any of his soldiers, if that temper came out...you better run and hide! :) However it took a lot to get him to that point. Once the issue was over it was over and it was not addressed again. He was fair but hard in love, life and work.

Chris was an amazing Commander. I only got to see a small side of this, but since his death have had the honor of getting to know many of his soldiers and they all liked, loved and admired him. The compliments they have given Chris have been wonderful. They are fair in their assessments of him and had so much honor and pride in their Commander. What more could you want as a legacy in a military man?

We miss him every day. He was not able to be a father for long but for the time he did have, he was far beyond what my wildest dreams would have thought. He loved his boys more than life, he loved being their Daddy.

Today and everyday we love and miss you! You guide us and stand by us allowing us to feel safe and taken care of.

    Love always and forever
    Your family
