  • Andrew grew up in Jim Thorpe, Pa. He enlisted in the Army in 1999. He spent 2 yrs. at Ft. Hood as a Bradley driver. He re-enlisted for 6 more yrs. and requested Jump School and the 82nd Airborne Division. Andrew spent 6 months at Baghram Air Base, Afghanistan with Headquarters Company. Upon his return to Ft. Bragg, he became a member of A.Co. 1/504th PIR. He deployed with them to Iraq in 2003. A few months later, the incident would occur that would take his life. He is buried in Section 60, Arlington National Cemetery. A.J.'s story is told in his book, "My Hero, My Son."
